Edit a Message Before Sending
In Billabex, all follow-ups are automatically generated by the AI agent according to an evolving communication plan. You cannot manually edit a scheduled message directly in the platform.
However, you can still request an adjustment to the upcoming message or the tone used—via the AI agent.
Why can’t messages be edited manually?
Each follow-up is structured to maintain a coherent, dynamic, and traceable plan.
Manual “on-the-fly” edits would compromise:
- The logic of the follow-up sequence
- The consistency of previous and future communications
- The AI agent’s ability to manage responses autonomously
For this reason, messages are auto-generated and locked once scheduled.
How to request a modification
If you want to adapt an upcoming message, simply email the AI agent from your professional inbox, or create a dedicated task in the platform.
Common examples of requests:
- Postpone the next follow-up by a few days
- Add context to the upcoming message
- Use a more empathetic tone for a sensitive client
- Avoid certain terms (e.g., “formal notice,” “legal action”) for a specific case
- Attach supporting documents received outside the platform
- Inform the client that a team member will call them

Each request is reviewed by the AI agent, which will adapt its behavior and/or create a confirmation task if necessary.
What happens next?
Based on your request:
- The AI agent updates the upcoming message or adjusts the tone
- It changes the sending date to match your timing
- It can pause the recovery plan while awaiting confirmation

All changes are logged in the task activity feed or in your conversation thread with the AI agent. The AI will always reply to confirm what actions were taken.
